Release Date: January 22, 2010
MONMOUTH, Ill. —
After a one-week absence, the Monmouth College men’s track
team is back in the national rankings as reported by the U.S. Track
& Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
The Fighting Scots not only got back into the rankings, they
pulled into the 18th position in this week’s USTFCCCA rankings,
which compares teams based on performances during the current
season. The rankings, released each Wednesday by the USTFCCCA, gave
Monmouth a score of 36.92, less than four points from a top 15 slot
and less than three points behind UW-Whitewater in 17th.
Three nationally-ranked teams will be competing at Monmouth on
Feb. 13 in the Fighting Scot Invitational at the Huff Athletic
Center. No. 7 UW-La Crosse will join Monmouth and UW-Whitewater in
the nine-team meet. Field events begin at 1:30 p.m.
