MC's Hughes earns conference award Release Date:

MONMOUTH, Ill. —
Monmouth College senior Tanesha Hughes (Peoria, Ill./Woodruff)
has gotten off to a fast start and has earned the Midwest Conference
Performer of the Week award in women’s basketball.
Hughes recorded three double-doubles in the last week and her
fourth straight double-double of the season in five games. The 5-10
forward began the week with an 11-point, 10-rebound effort in a
59-55 win at North Park. In the opener of the Fighting Scots own
Thanksgiving Tournament, she led a Scots comeback, ripping down 16
rebounds and collecting 18 points as the Scots erased an 18-point
halftime deficit before falling to Central 84-76. She then capped
the week with her fourth double-double, pouring in 15 points and
pulling down 11 rebounds as the Fighting Scots took third at the
tournament with a 73-53 win over Rockford. She was also named to the
all-tournament team.
For the week, Hughes averaged 14.7 ppg, 12.3 rpg and hit 16 of 20
from the foul line.
