Trio Named All-Conference
Release Date: October 2, 2000
A trio of Monmouth College
golfers have been named to the Midwest Conference All-Conference women’s golf team.
In only the second year of the
program, the Scots placed three golfers in the top 10 of the MWC meet held this past
weekend in Grinnell, Iowa. The Monmouth linksters finished in second place behind
defending champion Knox College.
Leading the way onto the
all-conference team was Molly McNamara of Alexis, Ill./Alexis H.S. The sophomore
physical education major led the team with a 36-hole total of 174, good enough for a
fifth place finish.
A pair of freshman, Amy Mielak
of Grinnell, Iowa/Grinnell H.S., and Amy Rassman of New Lenox, Ill./Lincoln-Way
H.S., rounded out the all-conference selections for the Scots.
Mielak, an education and physical
education major, used the course she grew up on to finish seventh in the conference
meet. Rassman, an education major, bounced back from a disappointing first round to slip
onto the all-conference team with a 10th place finish. |
