Scots Claim Five All-Americans at
National Meet

The Monmouth College men’s and
women’s track teams had one of their best showings in recent years at the National Track
and Field Meet held at North Central College in Naperville, Ill. Roger Haynes’ troops
nailed down a total of five All-American’s, four from the women’s team and one from the
men’s.
The Scots’ Constance Jackson
led the women’s All-American charge finishing fourth in the 200 meters in a time of
24.70, then had just 45 minutes to recuperate before joining Jill Hoops,
Philicia Moredock and Elise Estes in the 4x400 to finish fifth in 3:52.00,
giving the foursome All-American status.
Hurdler Scott Stanton picked
up his All-American honor in the 110 hurdles, finishing seventh in 14.90. Cort Mills
who finished eighth in the high jump last year to garner All-American status, finished
16th this year with a best jump of 6’4-3/4.
