ROGER
HAYNES enters his 27th season as the men's outdoor track & field coach at Monmouth and his
11th as the head coach of the women's program. Under Haynes'
direction, Monmouth's track program has experienced unparalleled success. The dominant
team in the Midwest Conference since 1990, the Fighting Scots women have won
12 of the
last 14 outdoor track & field conference titles.
Monmouth's women have won 114
outdoor individual and relay conference titles and the program can
claim 98 NCAA
Outdoor National Championship
qualifiers and 36 outdoor All-Americans. A former school record holder in the high jump,
Haynes graduated from Monmouth in 1982 and still holds the college record in the javelin
throw (205'8"). In 2007, Haynes was named the Division III
Men's National Coach of the Year for the indoor season by the U.S.
Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. He was inducted into the Monmouth M-Club Hall of Fame in 1997.
Haynes also serves as Monmouth's Athletic Director and as an instructor in the Department of Physical Education.

Beyer earns season's final
Performer of the Week

Distance runner Mary Kate Beyer (East Peoria, Ill./East
Peoria) had a busy weekend, setting a school record, provisionally
qualifying for the NCAA Outdoor Championships and earning the latest
Midwest Conference Performer of the Week honor in women’s track.
Beyer has been re-writing the Monmouth College
record book this season and last week was no exception.

Hughes earns Performer of the Week,
again

Senior Tanesha Hughes (Peoria, Ill./Woodruff) threw
an automatic-qualifying distance with all five of her discus throws
at last weekend’s Augustana Meet of Champions and was named the Midwest Conference Field
Event Performer of the Week in women’s track & field for the
second time.

threw two provisional qualifying marks at last weekend’s Washington
University Invitational and was named the Midwest Conference Field
Event Performer of the Week in women’s track & field.
Hughes made the start of the
season look easy, winning two events with two provisional qualifying
marks and one school record in her season-opening meet.
