MWC PERFORMER OF THE WEEK |
Lehr earns
season's second MWC Performer of the Week
February 9, 2010
It might be an unfair advantage that Gloria Lehr (Knoxville, Ill./Knoxville)
is a math and physics major competing in a sport that has weights
and measures, but she has been
making the most of her senior season and was named the Midwest
Conference Performer of the Week in the women’s field events for the
second time this season.
Lehr threw a provisional qualifying mark in the weight throw at
last week’s 21-team Keck Ecumenical. Her throw of 52’7-1/4” tied her
for second, improving her conference-leading mark by nearly 3’ and
ranks her 11th in the nation. Lehr’s 40’9” effort in the shot put
placed her second, 1-1/2” out of first. Her points helped the Scots
place third in the meet, less than three points out of second.
Lehr named MWC Performer of the Week
January
19, 2010
A personal-best mark in the season's first meet has earned a
Fighting Scot the Midwest Conference Performer of the Week honor in women’s field events.
Gloria
Lehr (Knoxville, Ill./Knoxville) eclipsed her personal best at
last Saturday's Knox Invitational.
The senior won the weight throw with a mark of 49’10-1/2”, besting
her previous career best by more than 10-1/2”. She added a second
place finish in the shot put where she put the shot 41’6-1/2”.
