the nation's top academic teams.
Tanney scores third preseason All-American honor
July 15, 2010 - The players won't arrive on campus until
mid-August, but already quarterback Alex Tanney is picking
up awards. The D3football.com website is the latest to honor
the record-setting signal caller.
Clayton earns national academic honor
July 8, 2010 - Not only can Rodney Clayton make putts,
he can also make the grade. The senior physics major was
recently named an Academic All-American Scholar.
Monmouth football ranked by USA Today
June 22, 2010 - For the third time in less than a month,
a national media outlet has predicted the Fighting Scots to
be among the nation's best for the upcoming season.
Football pair named preseason All-Americans by All-Star
group
June 22, 2010 - Quarterback Alex Tanney and wide
receiver Matt Shepherd were named preseason All-Americans by
an All-Star organization that honors only seniors.
Scots football ranked in pair of preseason polls
June 16, 2010 - For the second time in as many years,
the Fighting Scots have been ranked in the preseason top 20
by a pair of national magazines.
Tanney named preseason All-American
June 7, 2010 - Quarterback Alex Tanney will enter his
final season with more hardware. The senior signal-caller
was named a preseason All-American by Consensus Draft
Services.
Scots' Hannam claims national title, Reschke in rare air
May 29, 2010 - The 2010 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field
Championships will be memorable for at least three Fighting
Scots' athletes. Tyler Hannam earned Monmouth's eighth
national championship, Luke Reschke became one of the Scots'
most decorated track athletes and Dan Higgins ended his
career with his first All-American award.
Reschke in 400 finals with meet's top time
May 28, 2010 - Only two runners are within a second of
Monmouth's Luke Reschke heading into Saturday's finals of
the 400-meter dash at the 2010 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field
Championships. The Scots' senior could earn his ninth
All-American title. Gloria Lehr made some noise with a
career-best effort in the shot put, but came up just inches
short in her bid for the finals.
Higgins cashes in on Opening Day, earns All-American status
May 27, 2010 - Senior Dan Higgins made sure the Fighting
Scots didn't have to wait long for an All-American
performance at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field
Championships. Higgins earned the award in Monmouth's first
event of the competition, marking the 25th straight year a
Fighting Scot has claimed that status.
Track cracks national top ten
May 25, 2010 - With just one meet remaining, the
Fighting Scots men's track team has cracked the top 10 in
the latest national power rankings by one coaches'
organization. Monmouth's women weren't forgotten, moving
into the top 20 in the D3rankings.us system.
Reschke named Midwest Region's best
May 24, 2010 - Eight-time All-American Luke Reschke has
been named the Midwest Region's best runner after a vote of
the Region's more than 40 coaches.
Five head to NCAA Championships
May 24, 2010 - The Fighting Scots will be well
represented in eight events at this week's NCAA Outdoor
Track and Field Championships. Monmouth has the nation's
best performance in the 400-meter dash and are ranked in the
top five in two field events.
Kaiser receives ESPN academic honor
May 20, 2010 - Swimmer John Kaiser not only made history
in the pool, but also in the classroom this season. The
senior became the Fighting Scots' first swimmer to receive a
national academic honor from ESPN The Magazine.
Trio moves up national rankings
May 20, 2010 - With two track meets remaining, a trio of
Scots wasted no time in improving their national rankings.
Scots baseball delivers 'the goods'
May 19, 2010 - Thanks to the efforts of the Fighting
Scots baseball team, one local food pantry gained weight
this spring. Approximately 250 pounds of canned goods were
collected at Monmouth's home games this year.
Baseball pair named All-Conference
May 18, 2010 - Senior Tom Shaver and junior Robbie
Hinkle share common bonds. Both received the famous
"hit-by-pitch" nine times this season and both were named
All-Midwest Conference in a vote of the league's coaches.
Track wins league titles, again
May 16, 2010 - It was business as usual for the men's
and women's track teams at the Midwest Conference Outdoor
Championships. Both teams ran away from the pack as the men
captured their 10th straight title and the women their
sixth.
Harvey a stroke from NCAA finals
May 13, 2010 - Every stroke counts. Senior Ryan Harvey
tied for the final individual playoff spot at the NCAA Men's
Golf Championships this week, but was eliminated in a sudden
death playoff.
Golfers finish five strokes shy of finals
May 12, 2010 - The Scots' dreams of a top 20 finish at
the NCAA Men's Golf Championships came to an end after the
second round. Monmouth tied for 24th, just five strokes out
of the final qualifying position for the final 36 holes.
Softball trio named all-conference
May 12, 2010 - Midwest Conference softball coaches named
two Fighting Scots sophomores and one freshman to the 2010
all-conference team.
Track team back in national rankings
May 12, 2010 - The men's track team is back in the
national rankings after a computer problem the week before
had omited some key performances.
Track team will face stiff challenge at conference meet

personal-best performances netted Peyton Lumzy the Midwest

April 27, 2010 - Pitcher Kelsey Williams hasn't allowed
an earned run in nearly 17 innings. That dominance in the
circle has earned the freshman the Midwest Conference

Hinkle slugs his way to Performer of the Week honor
April 27, 2010 - Robbie Hinkle walked softly and carried
a big stick last week, connecting for four doubles and a
home run in the Scots' must-win conference double-header
sweep last week. That slugging earned the junior the Midwest
Conference Performer of the Week honor.
Two meets in two days produces another record
April 26, 2010 - The women's 4x800 relay team broke
their own record at last weekend's Drake Relays. The Scots
then turned in 11 firsts at the Loras Open the following
day.

April 26, 2010 - The Fighting Scots geared up for the
Midwest Conference men's golf championships with a
second-place finish at last weekend's Scot-Fire
Invitational.
Scots volunteer nearly 1200 man hours in one day
April 26, 2010 - The annual Fighting Scots Football
Cleanup Day provided nearly 1200 man hours of volunteer
service to the Monmouth community. Nearly 70 players worked
at over 15 sites around the city as part of the team's
service project.

April 12, 2010 - Freshman Brandon Kemerling showed the
veterans what he's made of at last weekend's 14-team
tournament. A birdie on the first playoff hole earned the
Scots their second tournament medalist in just two weeks.
Longtime track record falls, Scots finish 1-2 at large meet
April 5, 2010 - A record that has stood since 1982 was
broken last weekend as the Fighting Scots women finished
first and the men second at one of the season's largest
meets.
Football team holds second annual Cleanup Day
April 5, 2010 - Over 15 sites were serviced last year as
part of the First Annual Fighting Scots Football Cleanup
Day. Requests for cleanup assistance are currently being
accepted for this spring's Cleanup Day on April 17.
Twenty Scots named Academic All-Conference
