MC music students featured in three separate recitals
Release Date:
March 14, 2006
MONMOUTH, Ill. — Three separate recitals featuring the talents of Monmouth
College vocalists and instrumentalists are planned in March and early April. All
three events will be held in the Kasch Performance Hall of the Dahl Chapel and
Auditorium and are free and open to the public.
A fourth recital, which was scheduled for March 26 and was to feature
clarinetists Kelly Stadter and Adrienne Schulz, has been cancelled.
The first of the three performances is the music department’s honors recital on
March 22 at 7:30 p.m. The only recital to feature students who have been
selected by audition to perform, its solo vocalists and instrumentalists were
selected by the faculty through a series of rigorous auditions. According to Ian
Moschenross, assistant professor of music, the department wants the recital to
be special by highlighting students who are serious about performance.
On March 29 at 7:30 p.m., as many as 20 of Moschenross’s piano students will
present a recital of solo performances, featuring a variety of styles and skill
levels.
On April 6 at 4 p.m., up to 20 more students will present a recital of vocal and
instrumental solos and some chamber music. The program is open to all students
taking private lessons from the music faculty.
The student musicians at all three recitals represent both music majors and
non-music majors.
