Fellowship program targets recent MC grads
Release Date: March 11, 2005
MONMOUTH, Ill. — Monmouth College
has approved an experimental program that will allow new graduates
to pursue an academic or service-based campus project.
The Post-Baccalaureate Fellowship
program, administered by the faculty curriculum committee, will annually
award up to two additional semesters of participation in the academic life
of the college to deserving seniors.
Applicants must identify a sponsoring
faculty member or administrator and propose a project in the spring before
they graduate. Fellowships will be awarded on a competitive basis.
“This is an exciting opportunity for our
students,” said classics professor Tom Sienkewicz. “In recent years I can
think of a number of students who would have been excellent candidates for
such an opportunity and I know several current seniors who are already
planning applications.”
