COLLEGE'S CHORALE SELECTED TO PERFORM FOR IMEA
Dr. Perry White, director of choral activities at
Monmouth College, was recently informed that one of the school’s ensembles, the Chorale, has
been selected to perform at the 2001 Illinois Music Educators Association (IMEA) All-State/MENC
North Central Conference.
"Honestly, I’ve never had anything this exciting happen in my
career," said White, who joined the MC faculty in 1998. "This is big."
The Chorale, which had to audition for the honor, will
perform for approximately one hour at the IMEA’s Peoria conference, which is attended by
choral educators from throughout Illinois. The exact date and time of the Chorale’s
performance will be announced later.
Earlier this year, the 31-member Chorale conducted an
eight-city, six-state tour over the college’s spring break.
