All research projects must be submitted for
review. It is the responsibility of the HSRB Chair and committee to determine
if a project is exempt (from a full board review), expedited or requires a full
board review.
| Any research project involving
human subjects that is conducted by Monmouth College faculty, staff,
or students must be reviewed. Research using MC faculty, staff, or
students, as research subjects must also be reviewed, even if the
researcher is from another institution. When in doubt about whether
HSRB review is necessary or not, the appropriate course of action is
to seek review. The main purpose of this committee is to ensure the
safety of people who voluntarily participate in research projects as
subjects. The Monmouth College HSRB policies and procedures are
based on federal guidelines. |
