Senior standout Briana Flynn is a familiar face found
within many places at Monmouth College, whether she is
(literally) running around campus, working in the Wackerle
Center, or helping out as a speech tutor.
A Bettendorf, Iowa
native, Flynn flew south to Monmouth College, where she is
double majoring in Communication and Public Relations.

Although political
science is not in the curriculum for these majors, Flynn said "I
would love to become politically involved. The more that I learn
about the Government’s role in our current economic situation,
the more I want to become involved and positively change our
country."
With this in mind,
Flynn owes a lot of her academic achievement to Professor
Richard Johnston. He has influenced her during her entire four
years, and "challenged [her] to critically think about issues
that are going to affect our generation and has helped [her] to
grow as an individual."
In addition to
double majoring, Flynn was nominated for the Lambda Pi Eta
honors society, and has been named Academic All Conference every
semester as a cross country runner.
She is currently a
speech tutor and a cross country representative for SAAC
(Student Athletic Advisory Committee).
Flynn also worked as
a Career Assistant last year in the Wackerle Center.
According to Flynn,
every organization has helped her along the way these past four
years.
"Everything that
I’ve been involved in at Monmouth has helped me grow as a person
and has taught me something in one way or another," said Flynn.
"I’ve had a great college experience and wouldn’t change a
thing."
When not caught up
in her many activities, Flynn enjoys spending her time in the
Involvement House on campus hanging out with friends. She also
participates in intramural volleyball and is a huge fan of "The
Office," and bands such as Of a Revolution (O.A.R.), Dave
Matthews Band, and Jack Johnson.
With graduation
slowly creeping upon the Class of 2010, Flynn reminisces about
her favorite memory at Monmouth College-- winning conference in
Cross Country in the 2008 season. They were the first team to do
so in Monmouth College history.
If Flynn has any
advice for underclassmen, it would be "Just stay true to
yourself and to never take yourself too seriously. You’re going
to change so much in the next few years so learn as much about
yourself as possible and just have fun because it’s going to be
over before you know it!"
