The Courier, the student newspaper of Monmouth College, is published on selected Fridays each semester. Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to voice their opinions to the editor. All letters must be typed, signed and include a phone number. Letters should not exceed 300 words and should either be emailed to courier@monm.edu or sent via campus mail by 5 p.m. on the Wednesdays preceding publication.
The Courier reserves the right to edit submissions for length, style and standards of good taste. This publication presents opinions that do not necessarily reflect those of the editors, the reporters, the faculty or the administration of Monmouth College.
The Courier office is located in the lower level of the Stockdale Center on the Monmouth College campus. The offices can be reached by calling 309/457-3456. Advertising rates are available upon request.

Lucas Pauley - Editor-in-Chief
Lucas is a senior here at MC. Along
with being the Editor-in-Chief, he is a part of Big Brothers Big
Sisters, Men's Glee Club, and The Scotsmen. He loves music,
writing and football. Lucas hopes to own a recording studio
someday, and would love to have a career as a journalist,
particularly in the entertainment field. |

Ashley
Nuzzo - News Editor
Ashley is a senior Psychology major
with a Spanish minor. Her future career goal is to work with
children in a dolphin-assisted therapy facility. Her favorite
authors are Carl Hiaasen, David Eddings and Elizabeth Gilbert.
Ashley also enjoys scrapbooking, traveling, and movies.

Derek Keist -
Features Editor
Derek is a double major in Communication and English with a
minor in Journalism. He spent half a year as a contributing
writer on the Courier and joined the editing staff this year
as the Features Editor. Last year he was an Resident
Assistant in Cleland Hall, where he is now Head Resident. He
is a very social and outgoing person and easy to get along
with. His hobbies are video games and writing. He hopes to
someday combine the two and find a job in journalism writing
for a video game magazine. That is his future dream job.

Adam Kinigson - Sports Editor
Adam Kinigson is a junior Communication major from Bolingbrook, Ill.
On top of being the Sports Editor for the Monmouth College
Courier, Adam is also the libero for the men’s volleyball
team, as well as a member of the men’s fraternity, Phi Delta Theta.
He loves baseball, football and his favorite team is the New York
Yankees. Adam enjoys all types of music, but his favorite singer is
Elvis Presley. He also has one older sister and a dog named Oreo.

Sally Hayes -
Photography Manager
Sally Hayes is
a senior Philosophy and Classics double major with a History
minor from Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. Sally assisted with
photography for the Courier last semester and is
now enjoying the position of Photography Manager. She is a
member of the Monmouth College Water Polo team, a Resident
Assistant in Founders' Village, a member of the Blue
Key Honors Society, and participates in the Monmouth College
Band. Sally took a semester on hiatus to work for the Obama
presidential campaign last fall and plans to return to the
world of politics upon graduating. After a round or two of
campaigns she is looking into Law School or Museum Studies.
She also enjoys spending time with her younger sister, Maya,
her parents, and her black lab, Magik.

Danny Weber - Online Manager
Danny Weber is a senior at
Monmouth College, unwillingly dragged into the English major and by Professor Willhardt. He has enjoyed writing for
The Courier since his
freshman year and managing its website since his junior year. Danny finds little solace
in being a White Sox fan at MC, but
enjoys watching the Bears also. He hopes to somehow combine his
passion for writing, music, and movies into a career and perhaps to
open his own donut shop one day. |

Michelle Nutting
- Advertising Manager
Michelle is a junior
from St. Louis, Missouri, majoring in Communication with a
minor in Political Science. Besides being the Promotions Manager
for the Courier, Michelle is involved with the Pi Beta Phi
sorority, where she is the new member coordinator. She is a Scot
Ambassador, giving perspective students tours, lunch, etc. She
is a Lead Orientation Leader, where she welcomes the new
students to campus in the fall by being a leader of the ILA
group and helping them adjust to campus life. Michelle is also
an anchor and reporter on Monmouth’s television news cast "MC-TV
This Week". She also runs sprints for the Fighting Scots Track
and Field team. Within the Courier, Michelle’s position requires
her to get advertisements from the local businesses around the
town of Monmouth.
